What to do, what to do

As far as summer classes go, the one I have right now is probably the best situation possible. I mean the course content is not my favorite by any means (we're studying what it means to be a healthcare manager/how it plays into OT, etc.) but it's only from 9-11:40. So after class, Ashley, Morgan, and I always hit up the pool. It's fabulous. Even if it's not quite sunny out, we're out there without fail catching whatever sun we can. This week we finally had two good sunny days (which I did get burned - a good feeling though).

Pretty much my summer schedule is CTG: Class, Tan, Gym. It's been fabulous. Minus all of the reading and papers that get in the way of my pool time. Though I can't complain since I have Friday classes off. This weekend/next week is pretty sweet. We had our first test on Wednesday, followed by a lecture and paper due on Thursday. Since we have Fridays off, this is a 4 day weekend! I have to spend some of it (probably today since it's not sunny out) catching up on reading but it's so nice not to have to spend it in class.

Most of my weekend includes the movies and sitting out by the pool. BUT on Saturday afternoon I'm driving into Maryland for my cousin's graduation. Then Sunday there's a picnic which I will get to see a lot of family at, including my mom and sisters!!! I'll be back sometime Sunday evening and have all day Monday to do whatever. We have another lecture on Tuesday, a test on Wednesday and then we have that Thursday off to work on our papers.

This next week looks like it could really well - if I get my reading done for my test that is. Off to do some errands/possible pool time. Until then!

"The one with all the weddings"

I'm not sure if you've ever been a fan of the show F.R.I.E.N.D.S., but they typically title all of the episodes by starting out with "the one with..." hence the blog title.

This school year, I've already been a bridesmaid in 2 weddings (including MOH in one) and invited to at least one other one in September. I do love weddings though, I just somehow forgot all of the time and effort involved. Yesterday Amanda and Ben got married up in NOVA. They had a wonderful ceremony, followed by an awesome reception. Amanda looked absolutely gorgeous in her dress; her hair and make up done. It was beautiful. The speeches were all very heart warming and tear-jerking. It was one of the best weddings that I have ever been too.

That said, I am absolutely exhausted. As the MOH, I've had a lot of responsibility and projects to take on over the past year including a Bridal Shower, Bachelorette party, a toast, attending the rehearsal and dinner, the actual wedding itself (which included keeping track of all things all the time), fluffing the train of the dress, not lighting the flowers on fire, getting the sparklers ready, decorating the get away car, etc. The list goes on. I had a fabulous time doing each of these things and everything turned out better than I could have imagined!

All I want to do now is sleep. The pressure really set in on Friday evening at the rehearsal. Now that the weekend is actually over, I feel a sense of relief knowing that there's no more pressure, but I'm saddened. I spent so much time with Amanda (Soltoff) over the past months getting everything ready and prepared. Now that she'll be moving to Pennsylvania, I'm wondering how the logistics of visiting will go. Lots of phone/skype date of course with an impending visit or two, but it's weird to think one of best friends is married. Well 2 down, 6 to go. Lets just spread these next few around a bit. :)

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Soltoff!!!!

Sweet home...Louisiana???

I thoroughly enjoyed my week off of classes. The weekend after my exams were over, I drove up to Amanda's house for her bachelorette party and Bridal shower. Which also happened to be a lot of fun (pictures soon to follow).

Sunday night I drove home and spent some time with my mom on Mother's Day which was so much fun. Then, Monday Riley and my mom both had the day off so we went to Zumba and then out to lunch followed by some shopping.

Tuesday morning I woke up at about 2:30 AM, double checked my bags, showered, etc. and then headed off to the Richmond airport. I left my house about 3, stopped for coffee along the way and parked. By the time I got to the airport (2+ hours later) it was close to boarding time. My flight took off about 6:40 and I landed in LA at around 11. I spent the next few days with Megan (on an army base no less) lounging and doing fun girly things. We went bowling, had spa pedicures, hit up Starbucks (multiple times), went to the movies, etc.

I flew back late Friday night and low and behold my car battery had died - since I forgot to turn my overhead light off. It was already after midnight but I had to wait for someone to give my car a jump. Then I picked up Kim and we headed to my house in Montross.

Saturday we just lounged, looked for sharks teeth, saw Bridesmaids and saw Bailey and her friends all dressed up in the PROM getup. BTW thank goodness I am no longer in high school where that kind of drama tends to reside.

Sunday I came home. A lot more happened between then and there but I'm just too tired and it's just too early to post about it right now. Hopefully, I'll put some pictures up throughout the week. Granted that this class doesn't kill me.

First day of class and I was already assigned a paper due Wednesday, a research paper outline due Thursday, and a test next week. Oh geeze.

Looks like I'm not in Kansas anymore.

My Fabulous Weekend

This weekend was absolutely fabulous.
Friday, I went to dinner and PROM with Amanda. (the movie of course).
Then I drove to Kim's house.

Saturday, Kim, Emily, and I went shopping ate at Panera and then got all dolled up to go see Beauty and the Beast. Then we went to this awesome little bistro called Pan-e-rea (formally known as Panera) for dinner.

I drove home early Sunday, and sold my couch! Got a decent amount for it.
Then I went and studied for this so-called exam that I have tomorrow.
Went to this awesome concert @ church and now I'm just procrastinating.

Tomorrow = exam and then studying at the pool.
My life goal is to be tan.
